Which airport should I fly into?
Agadir Al Massira (AGA) is the closest airport to Imsouane and the one most of our guests use. From the terminal, the drive north up the coast takes around two hours.
Marrakech Menara (RAK) is the usual alternative. It has a wider choice of flights from Europe, but the road journey is longer — roughly four hours. Essaouira has a small airport with very limited traffic; Imsouane sits about an hour and a half south of the town, so it can work if the flight times happen to suit you. Casablanca is Morocco’s main international gateway, but from there most travellers connect onward by domestic flight to Agadir rather than driving the whole way.

How long is the drive from Agadir?
Around two hours in normal conditions. The route runs north out of the city along the coast, through Aourir and Tamraght, past Taghazout and Anchor Point, then on above the sea toward Tamri. After that a turn-off leads away from the main road and drops down to Imsouane Bay.
It is a beautiful drive and a useful one — you pass a good part of the fifteen-plus surf spots that sit between Imsouane and Agadir, so you arrive with a sense of the coastline. Allow a little extra time if you’re leaving Agadir in the late afternoon, and don’t judge the last section by distance alone; it is slower than it looks.
Taxi, private transfer or bus — which should I take?

A private transfer is the simplest: the driver meets your flight, knows the turn-off, and the price is fixed before you travel. It is not the cheapest way to arrive, but it removes every decision at the end of a long journey.
Grand taxis are the shared Mercedes and minivans you’ll see at ranks across Morocco. They run set routes and leave when full, and getting to Imsouane usually means at least one change along the coast. You can also charter the whole car for yourself. Fares are negotiated, never metered — agree the price before setting off, and settle in advance what counts as extra for luggage or boards.
Getting here by bus
Coaches run between Agadir and Essaouira and pass along this coast. Imsouane lies off that road, so services generally do not drive down into the bay; expect to be dropped at the junction or in a village nearby and to cover the last stretch by local taxi. Confirm the drop-off point with the operator when you buy your ticket. It is the cheapest way to travel and the slowest, and it is worth timing so you arrive in daylight.
Coming from Marrakech or Essaouira
From Marrakech, allow about four hours. Drivers take either the fast road toward Agadir and then head north up the coast, or the road west to Essaouira and then south. From Essaouira it is a straightforward hour and a half down the coast, which makes it an easy pairing if you want a couple of nights in the medina before or after your surf week.
Should I hire a car?
Only if you want to explore on your own terms. Everything at the camp is walkable — the surf house is about five minutes from the line-up — and the roads here are winding enough that many guests prefer not to drive at night. Hire cost varies with season, vehicle and how long you keep it, and fuel and any one-way fees are on top. What to send us before you travel
When you book, send your flight number and arrival time, and tell us how many bags and boards you’re bringing so we can confirm the right vehicle. We reply the same day. Anything route-specific we haven’t covered here — timings, pickup points, exact costs — we confirm directly with you rather than publishing a number that might have moved by the time you read it.
