Five variables account for most of the gap between a cheap surf trip to Morocco and an expensive one: when you travel, how many surfers share your coach, how long you stay, whether you fly your own board or use ours, and how you get from the airport to the coast. Learning the logic is more useful than any quoted figure, because the figure changes and the logic does not.
Does the time of year change what you pay?
Mostly through demand rather than through the surf itself. North-west Atlantic swell is most consistent from September to April, and December to February is the biggest and busiest stretch of the year in Imsouane. Beds, flights and transfers all come under pressure in those months, and the good weeks go early.
May to August is the smallest and gentlest time of year, which makes it the best window for learning and the quietest in the village. The shoulder months either side of winter tend to be the sweet spot: consistent swell, less competition for space. With around 340 days of sun a year, weather is rarely the deciding factor.
How much does group size affect lesson cost?
More than anything else in the water. Cost per person tracks the ratio almost directly: the fewer people sharing a coach, the more each of you pays, and the more individual correction you get inside the same two hours. Our group lessons are capped at five, which is small by most surf-camp standards, so even the entry-level option is not a crowded one.

Does a longer stay work out cheaper per day?
Usually. A surf week bundles seven nights in the surf house, five guided sessions, and board and wetsuit into one booking, so the per-day cost normally lands below the same nights and lessons assembled piece by piece. A couple of standalone lessons is the cheapest way to try surfing here in absolute terms; a full week is the cheapest way to get a lot of surfing done.
Which week you choose matters too. The Surf Camp Week is the base. The Surf and Yoga Week adds five rooftop yoga sessions, a traditional hammam and slow-food family dinners. The Surf Development Week is for intermediates and up, with coaching capped at five, daily video analysis and spot-chasing up the coast by 4x4 — more included and more coach time per guest, so it sits at the top of the range.
Should I bring my own board or rent one?
Your airline decides this, not us. Boards and wetsuits are included in every lesson and every surf week, so if you are booked on either, gear adds nothing. Flying your own board means paying an oversize baggage charge in both directions, and those charges vary widely by carrier, route and how far ahead you declare the bag. On some airlines a return board bag costs more than a week of rental; on others it is a fraction of it. Check your specific flight rather than assuming.
Wetsuits are simple here. Water sits at about 17-20C in winter and 20-23C in summer, so a 3/2 covers most of the year. We stock 3/2 and 4/3 in every size, and nobody needs to travel with two suits. If you are renting independently rather than through a lesson, we rent boards from soft-tops to performance shortboards, daily and weekly — worth asking which works better for your dates.
Agadir or Marrakech — which arrival costs less?

Marrakech often has the broader choice of flights, which is why people land there — but add the flight and the road leg together before deciding, because a cheaper flight can be cancelled out by four hours of driving. Whichever way you come, the same rules apply: shared transport is the cheapest option and private door-to-door the most expensive, luggage and board bags and late-night arrivals all push a fare up, and you should agree the price before the car moves. What else nudges the total?
Room type plays a part — we have rooms that suit families travelling together. Meals do too: surf weeks include homemade meals and family dinners, so food is largely accounted for, while a stay without a week package means arranging your own. Activities such as Moroccan cooking, sandboarding, surf-skate, Paradise Valley and the Agadir souk sit outside the standard week unless your package lists them.
Why there are no figures on this page
Prices move with the season, with availability and with how a week is put together, and third-party costs like taxis and baggage move faster still. A number published today would be wrong for someone reading it in six months, and we would rather be accurate than convenient.
